Cem Fırat
French instructor and translator Cem İbrahim Fırat was born in Istanbul in 1977. He graduated from Saint-Joseph French High School in 1996 and then from Galatasaray University Faculty of Communication in 2001. After his undergraduate education, he received his master’s degree in International Relations from GSÜ and Paris Saint-Denis University in France.
During his higher education in France, he worked at Le Monde Diplomatique and Manière de Voir newspapers. Upon his return from Turkey, he held academic and administrative positions at Işık and Istanbul Commerce Universities. He worked in the university’s foreign languages program and Erasmus office. He organized “Educational Trips” for university students, visiting European Union institutions and many foreign universities and establishing educational cooperation with institutions.
Cem Fırat speaks advanced Russian as well as French and English. With 15 years of experience, he gives private lessons in French and English at all levels. He has undertaken the translations of important documents of many institutions, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He served as an international observer in political election processes in various countries upon assignment by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey.
